Microsoft Translator for Lectures and Presentations
If you want to translate my spoken words into another language during lecture, I recommend the Microsoft Translator app for your phone. You can also use this service by going to the same link (as above) and entering the "conversation code" that I will provide for you. If you want to join the conversation more directly, type "translate.it/XXXXX" into your browser's address bar, with the five-letter code replacing "XXXXX."
If I'm not already using MS Translator during the lecture, please stop me to remind me to turn it on.
Set your preferred language in Settings (gear icon in the upper left corner of the app).
It is a good idea to mute your audio or toggle off the "auto-speak translations" setting in Settings. Otherwise, your phone may read the translations aloud.
You can type comments and questions into the translated conversation interface within your app by clicking on the keyboard icon at the bottom of your phone screen (or by placing your cursor in the text field at the bottom of the screen). It is important to note that anything you type will be seen by everyone who is in the conversation.
